Configuration Guide for Yoast WooCommerce SEO
You can find the settings for Yoast WooCommerce under the SEO menu.
Let us go through the settings one by one.
Twitter Product Cards
The Yoast WooCommerce SEO plugin allows for Twitter Product Cards. In order to use this, you need to request approval for your website first, which you can do here. This will also immediately give you an idea of what the Product Card will look like:
The Product Cards allow you to share your product with an image, description and two other key details of your product on Twitter. Our Yoast WooCommerce SEO plugin allows you to easily specify what the other key details should be:
You can select two attributes here that you want to show in your Twitter Product Cards. If the attribute you want to show isn't there, you can create a new attribute under in the WooCommerce area under Products > Attributes.
Schema & OpenGraph additions
There's also a feature for improving the output of Schema and OpenGraph markup. This allows for (among other things) better sharing on Facebook. These settings look like this:
The same as for the Twitter Product Cards applies here. If the attribute you want to select isn't there, just create it.
Enabling this will make sure you're website is outputting the Yoast SEO breadcrumb, instead of the WooCommerce breadcrumb. The advantage is our breadcrumb is better customizable and gets picked up by search engines better. And all that at the tick of a box:
Again, please note that this function is only here when you've enabled breadcrumbs in our WordPress SEO plugin.
The last two options are really simple. To avoid overcrowding your product page's backend with a lot of columns, there's an option to remove the Yoast SEO columns. And if you want the WooCommerce metabox to show up above the Yoast SEO metabox, select the second option:
Apart from these settings, the Yoast WooCommerce SEO plugin also does some things automatically, like removing stuff from the XML sitemaps that doesn't belong there.
However, with regards to setting up the plugin: you're done! Have fun with it!
